April 5: Zydeco Shoes: A Sensory Tour of Cajun Culture by Alex Hayes and Earl Hebert. In 1997 Alex and a friend were in New Orleans on business where they discovered Earl Hebert, an artist in Jackson Square. The story of this serendipitous meeting and the journey to the production of this beautiful book and CD set is one that is at once heartwarming and inspiring! Zydeco Shoes is an experience all by itself as it richly communicates the all the color, texture, warmth and fun of Cajun life. However, the story of how it came to be is equally as powerful in demonstrating that you never know when a chance meeting may change your life forever.

April 12: Under a Red Sky: Memoir of a Childhood in Communist Romania by Haya Leah Molnar. Born in Bucharest, Romania as Eva Zimmermann, Haya Leah Molnar's Hebrew name and Jewish identity were hidden from her in order to protect her against anti-Semitism. When she was ten, she and her family escaped the Communist regime and emigrated to Israel, and later to the US. A copywriter and creative director in advertising, she now writes full time in New York City, where she lives. This is her first book. Molnar teaches and writes extensively about the creative process.
